Sup Scandinavians
Soon I will have 3 months to burn, and I want to just chill in a nice spot some where in Scandinavia. All I really need is a place with some decent net cafes. I only speak English. If I find it sucks I'll just go some where else in the world.
So, where's the awesomest place? |

Re: Sup Scandinavians
Don't go to Finland. Supposedly it's not a part of Scandinavia.

One more try Pretty please? [/ QUOTE ] somewhere there is a scandanavian poker message board with players that make even more money than 2+2er's. perhaps you should try there. |

Re: Sup Scandinavians
Reykjavik, Iceland has plenty of coffess houses and other spots with free WI-FI. There is other stuff to see and do but you run out of touristy things to do in about two weeks. The cons are it is very expensive here and three months in the middle of Fall/Winter is pretty dark and miserable. PM me if you want more info.

Re: Sup Scandinavians
Norway
Pros -Extremely nice nature, if you are into hiking etc this is the place to be -Good nightlife in the "major" cities (Oslo, Trondheim, Bergen) -Good looking girls -Many many many good slopes for skiing, snowboarding etc Cons -Not very many net cafes in other cities than Oslo -VERY expensive (hi $25 for a pizza) -Crappy weather during the fall -It's a small country, so there's not much of a lot -Live poker is illegal -> no casinos And everyone younger than 50 speak english here (as they probably do in all of scandinavia) so that shouldn't be an issue really. |

Re: Sup Scandinavians
Swedn'
Pros: * Same as for Norway. * People are not nearly as retarded as norwegians. * Stockholm is great * People are friendly and helpful (albeit not very eazy going) * The average BMI is about half that of Indiana. * You don't tip anyone... evear (Seriously!, your bartender makes more money than you do) Cons * People are more melodramatic than Norwegians * People who hangs at cafés dont like Americans (seriously, they don't, but pretend to be English/Austrailian and you'll get laied nearly everytime (Swedish chicks will put up, and they bend over backwards for anyone with a cute accent)). All in all, you'll have a great time wherever you go to in Scandinavia. You will notice it's a bit harder to make contact with people, but when you do, it is not as shallow as a brief aquintence in North America. Just rememer; when you say "how do you do" to a Swede... he will tell you how he is doing, because that's the way we are. -Pre-edit... I think the spelling in this post is that of a 7 year old... I'll spell check next time *promise*- |
