Some people have had their bankrolls cashed out by hackers to an account and cashout method that never been used by them before (Moneybookers if I recall correct). I want my account set up so the only available cashout method is to my present Neteller account. Even though I might deposit by other means in the future, say Monebookers, Neteller should still be the only available cashout method.
The last case is to prevent from a hacker who deposits a smaller sum to my account by (say) Monebookers, just to eastblish that as a cashout method, and then cashes out my whole bankroll that way. If I, in the future, would like to lift this restriction and being able to cashout by another method, I don't want this to be as easy as sending them an email from the email address associated with my poker account. I want them to request me to send in a copy of my passport/etc to make this happen. Does this sound like a decent protection? I emailed Full Tilt, Party, Pokerstars and Paradise with this request. Full Tilt immediately granted my wish; Party and Paradise replied with some vague formulations that could be interpreted in several ways; Pokerstars at first replied with a nonsense form letter, and then with an email that had nothing to do with what I wanted, rather the complete opposite. Has anyone got something similar to work at a poker site? If so, how did you get the site to understand this rocket science stuff? Adde |

I tried this with neteller and it didn't work. I wanted deposits to only go to Party Poker and no where else.( I had had 2 attempts to deposit into a FTP account that was not mine). they told me they couldn't do that. Seems the sites should be able too do what you want though.

you might want to open an american bank account...i don't know if ING would qualify, but contact the sites you want to play and arrange to open a new account and make that your only withdrawal account? perhaps the sites would honor that, and make sure neteller understood that you would no longer be using them as much because they can't help you safeguard your bankroll.
did i make it clear...if neteller isn't associated with a site, a hacker couldn't withdraw to it. you might even ask to have a second account tied to neteller that was only able to transfer to your actual play account...that would make it so you could transfer to your secondary account and then withdraw from neteller if you wished. it sounds rather complicated, but it appears there is more hacking going on so it might be worth thinking about. sites you have played for a long time might understand that your purpose is not to scam someone but your own security. |

That's quite a hassle, getting a foreign bank account to get protection that sites themselves really, really ought to implement themselves. How hard can it be? Full Tilt gets it though.
[ QUOTE ] Hello Adde, Thank you for your email. I have made sure that all your future cashouts will only be deposited into your NETeller account as per your request. I have also notated your cashout method clearly for our cashiers when you request a cashout. I have forwarded your e-mail to our fraud and hoax department regarding the security of your account, as they can most effectively answer your question. You should hear back from them shortly. Thanks for your patience. If you have any further questions, please let us know Adde. Regards, Asha Full Tilt Poker Support [/ QUOTE ] |

as much as FT is frustrating, it appears they understand a poker player's bankroll.
i agree, what i mentioned is a hassle...but perhaps extreme , measures are getting needed. |

Couldn't you just make a small deposit using every available deposit method to block a hacker from using their own accounts?

at most sites, that could be a truly major undertaking

I've thought about doing this too. I wish sites would honor it, as it would make me feel WAY safer.

Hello Adde,
I'm very sorry that you feel we didn't handle this to your satisfaction. I understand your concerns about the security of your account, and I hope that I can reassure you. It is unfortunately not possible to set Neteller as the 'only cashout method' and restrict other methods from working. However $578 of your cashout will be sent automatically to Neteller. It is our policy to creditback the amount of previous deposits back to the account they came from - and this is a degree of protection against fraud. Please be assured that any amount over this, if it were to be sent to Firepay or to Neteller again, is carefully reviewed by our Security team. This is why cashouts over the original purchase amount take a little longer. I can assure you that PokerStars provides a very high level of security when players cashout, even if it is not possible for our software to restrict cashouts to specific methods as you wish. Please let us know if you have any more questions about this, we will be happy to help. Regards, Joanne PokerStars Support Supervisor |

How is then that some people can have hundreds of thousands of dollars with a poker site (Full tilt for example and their mega NL games) and not worry about their accounts getting hacked? Do sites offer more protection for big bankrolls?
