80/160+ Borgata
Headed down to the Borg this weekend...debating what time to show up on Friday...any ideas what time the 80 game really gets going? I just called to get an idea, and they said they only have 40/80 right now. Granted its only Monday, but I was under the impression that the 80 game is always going on down there

Re: 80/160+ Borgata
You're under the wrong impression. The 80 usually goes on weekends, but it is often half omaha8/half hold em. Usually, on a Saturday, there will be a straight 80 hold em game, but not always.

Re: 80/160+ Borgata
Thanks Jeff...curious...what time on friday does that 80 mixed game get going? I was going to get down there by 4 to avoid traffic. Sounds like i'll have to kill some time at the BJ tables or at the pool!

Re: 80/160+ Borgata
I'm rarely there on Fridays, so I'm probably not the best person to ask...but I assume it will be going by prime time. 7 pm? 8 pm? It depends who's there, but my guess is it will be mixed though it may be straight or there could be an 80 Omaha and and 80 hold em going. All depends.
Also, I recommend the 40 while waiting for bigger - it's a great game. So is 75 stud FWIW. Great action. There is higher stud also. And sometimes the 80 game will be kicked up to 1-2 or 150-300. Have fun. Jeff |

Also, I recommend the 40 while waiting for bigger - it's a great game. [/ QUOTE ] I know Jeff often says that, but sometimes that game can be pretty brittle, and if a game is often breaking, it can't be that good. I've never played in it, but I've watched it sometimes where every pot is heads-up for three-bets preflop. I'm sure the 40-80 can be good, but it probably isn't always good. |
