lets play T3o
My reraise here was a misclick but i ended up in an interesting position: Villian is a complete donk, he could be pushing any random hand, his push gives me about 3:1 to call and Im 43% to beat his range.
[(.43 x $21.04) + (.57 x -$9.96)] = -0.34 which is barely unprofitable. Secondly, and this may be presumptious, FE will go down as a result of something so LAG because it insures that I get more action in the future which I could exploit when I get a decent hand. Strangely, this adds up to call for me. Any takers? Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) Button ($15.61) SB ($51.25) BB ($24.65) UTG ($14.89) MP ($25) Hero ($39.05) Preflop: Hero is CO with 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.10. MP posts a blind of $0.25. UTG raises to $2.59, MP (poster) calls $2.34, Hero raises to $4.93, 3 folds, MP folds, UTG pushes, Hero calls $9.96. |

Re: lets play T3o
If I call here, I'm not doing it based on the EV of the decision, I'm doing it for future advertisement. Since advertisement is only worth so much, I probably fold and commit to not misclicking again.

Re: lets play T3o
Well I like to gamble but I wouldn't call here. If you like to gamboool I don't mind it though, but I think that it's -ev. Still very nice gamble

Re: lets play T3o
I find this applies more live than online. It works in both arenas, but online its so much easier for someone to just hit-n-run. You make the call with T3o, they double up, and they leave. While I do make some aggressive plays here and there, blatant advertising always seems to just cost me money.

Re: lets play T3o
I don't think the call is that big a deal. It was a random mis-click so it's not like you're making a habit of it...
That being said, I probably fold. My reasons being: 1) I understand your argument but agree with Bang that it's more effective live. In addition to the potential for a hit-and-run from a single player, I think the problem is that online at these limits, the turnover rate for these tables is so high in general that long-term considerations such as these tend to be nullified by how quickly new players come in and out. 2) Fish have very short-term memories (cf. Finding Nemo). Thus, you need to get a big hand very soon after calling here to profit from the potential extra action. |

Re: lets play T3o
Hang on, isn't this 2:1?
You are paying roughly $10 to win roughly $20, or 2:1 on your money - the $10 which you are paying isn't included in the calculations, because its not part of the pot yet. The current pot size would have to be closer to $30 to make this profitable. If I'm right, this could never be +EV. |

Re: lets play T3o
yes, 2:1....that was a typo but i believe the EV calculation is correct
