Default why are we not throwing our weight behind pederson

Why are we not making a collective effort to throw money/support behind Kyl's challenger Pederson?

Is it:

1) This race is not close enough to where an extra push will make a difference?

2) We're hoping someone else will send $

or something else?

I just sent $500 on the off chance it may help.

A fair number of people have donated to his campaign and there are a few threads about it.

yeah but it's all piecemeal. I'm talking about a focused dedicated effort, cross-posted to the high stakes forum, and possibly stickied.

2+2 Officially is not endorsing a candidate. I honestly don't think they have officially come out opposing the legislation. Something won't be stickied b/c of that.

PPA could be an organization to work through. It wouldnt surprise me if they would be willing to hand deliver a bunch of checks at once (called bundling) from various persons at a single fundraiser. That's their call of course.

They haven't...which is a real shame in my view. 2p2 stands to lose a lot here.

Edit: Sorry for the hijack, but this is just something that I really can't understand. MM and I have discussed this in other threads and his position seems to be that 2p2 has no reason to do anything other than provide a place for people to talk about the issue. I guess he stands to lose a lot more than I do, so that's his decision to make. I just find it sad and a bit discouraging that one of the biggest names in online gambling hasn't even taken a stance against a ban on online gambling in its biggest market.

No need to apologize, it is quite relevant to the discussion.

I also do not understand it, but this isn't my site, my money, or my reputation. We can disagree with the decision and keep using this forum to promote awareness and encourage active involvement by all parties.

Certainly parts of the reasoning (that I've seen) are understandable. This isn't a place for an outside group to spam for new members, nor for a candidate to come looking for campaign donations. It is a poker strategy forum.

However, my view remains that it is in the best interest of 2p2 to do all it can (both publicly and behind the scenes) to get involved. Maybe I can be convinced otherwise or see a little more clearly why active involvement shouldnt occur, but for now I don't see it.

The only thing that 2p2 has ever strongly supported was and is the padding of its pockets. This isn't necessarily a horrible thing. If I were running my own business I would likely conduct myself in much the same manner. I certainly understand the general stance of impartiality, but I think there are exceptions to every rule.
