Default 200NL - Proper Time For Three Barrells?!?

I am at work right now and I am recalling this hand from memory last night since it has been on my mind a lot.

This hand was within the first few orbits of sitting down. Villain is TAG and is big stack at the table. I have shown down strong hands when in pots and have been playing TAG as well.

$1/$2 NL

Villain: ~$536
Hero: ~$270

I am in CO with 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Everyone folds to Villain in MP+2 and calls the BB. I raise to $10. Everyone gets out of the way. Villain completes and it is us two off to see a flop.

Pot (~$23)
Flop: 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Villain checks. I lead for $21. Villain calls.

Pot (~$62)
Turn: 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Villain checks. I fire $45. Villain thinks for awhile and calls.

Pot (~$152)
River: 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Villain checks. Hero bets $97.

What do you guys think here? Thoughts from myself to come. Thanks.

Bump.

Does anyone else fire three barrells here? What type of hands do you put villain on?

I think firign a third barrel is fine, he could easily have some sort of pair draw combo that missed on the river, he could of been completely drawing, either way he did not show much strength, or any signs of protecting a big hand, and with the blank on the river, i think that a third barrel is a good play.

Sweet. Thats what I was thinking. I just wanted to know if other people had same thought process to his holding as I did. I had him specifically on Ax sooted or J10 and figured a good bet would win it there.

How often do people make these plays?

As played as long as your image is good I dont mind the 3rd. But more importantly I dont like this 2nd barrel at all. There's simply too many hands that he can easily call it with on this board often forcing you to fire a 3rd to win the pot. JT, NFD, Qx hearts, any K, etc.

I like it. I might make the turn closer to $60 tho so I can just shove the river.

If hero doesn't bet the turn, then it gives a very easily opportunity for villain to lead the river with any missed draw.

Overall, I like the 3rd barrel because of the flush and JT draw out there.
