Default Canada and alcohol

I am going to Niagara Falls, ON to meet a friend/gamble en route back to pittsburgh for school. As you may know, you can buy alcohol at 18 in Canada(I think). I am 19. Is it a horrible idea to bring some back with me? I've heard it's a bad idea from one person, but that I won't get caught from another. I'll have a ton of boxes in the car.

The legal age in ontario is actually 19. Not that it matters for you.

A few bottles probably won't be found, and if they are, it's probably not a big deal. A ton could be a problem w.r.t. both your age and import taxes.

If you are planning on buying them at duty free - they will take your license plate and you can't bring back more than 40oz of liquor (this how we measure alcohol in Canada) or a case of beer per person.

Your best bet would be to go to a liquor store.. buy a [censored] load. Then not declare it at the border.

But be careful, they love to search groups of young dudes at the border. On the way to the Series they searched everything but our cavities.. something to keep in mind if you get really desperate.

There must be an easier way for you to get alcohol in the States than smuggling it across the boarder.

That said, you probably won't be caught.
