Default folding full houses easy?

canterbury 30/60

I limp utg with 44. There are 6 more limpers and the bb checks.

Flop is 8 8 4 rainbow. Donkey bb bets, I call there are 2 more callers.

Turn Jr. BB checks, I bet. MP tight passive (nez). He calls. Button is looseish passive (blond jeff). He calls too. BB folds.

River is a Q. I bet, MP raises, button 3 bets. Now what?

Not here. Smells of 9T, slowplayed 8. The decision I'm more torn is to 4-bet cap (is it 4-bet cap?) or to just call. Not to call or fold.

Also, I would more often than not just put in a raise on the flop and try to get action from the 8 right away. I understand why you didn't.

Seems like a fold, but I definitely do not understand Canterbury games.

I don't think you can fold here chris. Nez has an 8 here just about every time. I think the only hand your losing to that Nez could have is Q8 suited. He wouldn't limp with J8, i don't think. Most likely has A8 suited. The other guy could basically have any random 8, he's a moron. I would probly 4 bet and if either one of them 5 bets you can throw it in the muck, quickly.

Even if I didn't read the hand, any line that recommends 4-betting the river and folding to a 5-bet is fairly bad for metagame reasons.

But after reading the hand, this line isn't very good. If your opponents are bad enough to call a 4-bet here without a boat, then you shouldn't ever fold this hand. If they're good enough to fold non-boated hands to your 4-bet, then there's no value in making it. 4-betting makes the pot so big, that once someone 5-bets it, you've created a situation where you're folding a full house on the river for one bet in a monster pot and not seeing a showdown.

Just call the 3-bet and hope both guys have weaker hands (the river decision is between call and fold, not call and 4-bet). I wouldn't be surprised if you're up against a better full house, but I think your hand is worth a call. I strongly dislike a 4-bet/fold line -- mostly because of the 4-bet, not because of the fold (you're good like .003% of the time anyone 5-bets the river).

4 betting sucks thats not an option Nez never puts any more $ in the pot unless your beat and Jeff might not either.

How many people limped in front of nez when he limped and how many people were left to act behind him on the turn? We should be able to figure out what Nez has everytime but im pretty sure its j8 as long as there were 2-3 limpers and more than 2 people left behind him on turn.

You're crazy. What's he supposed to do preflop, open-raise UTG with 44? And on the turn, he bet -- what else can he do? Nobody bet into him and nobody raised.
