So I almost got killed eating at Hooters today

Surprisingly, it wasn't on account of eating too many Three Mile Island wings or trying to grab my waitress's [censored].

The wife, boy and I went to the Lousiville airport to pick up the inlaws this afternoon. The wife is pregnant and is due this week, so her folks came in for the occasion. We decide to get some wings for lunch. By the time we get there it's like 3 in the afternoon and mostly dead. We order our food and it is served with typical Hooters mediocre service (for example the fries got there cold and they had to get us new servings).

This next point is key. As our food arrived, the wife and I changed places since me and her step dad were the only two eating wings. For the next ten minutes, I'm sitting there chowing on wings, eating Killians, and generally reveling in the constant replaying of Steeler highlights from the weekend. I notice the sound of wood cracking, and the next thing I know I jump out of my seat as a 32 inch TV (an old CRT type) comes crashing down along with its mount from its support beam down about 12 inches from me. I estimate the TV was 70-80 lbs and about ten feet in the air. Translation: If it hits me, it seriously [censored] me up. Further, the consequences are beyond catestrophic if my super pregnant wife and I don't trade seats and it hits her.

My 20 month old started bawling, and I was [censored] pissed. Management apologized repeatedly and took care of our bill, even giving my the boy a little Hooters shirt. What infuriated me was the prospect of a possible catastrophic injury to either my wife or soon to be born child.

I love wings, but I'll probably be sticking to Buffalo Wild Wings from now on [img]/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img].
