Rate this chess game please
With all the talk about chess, I am getting back into it. I have not studied crazy amounts and know all the starters that people know, I just like to play the game. I have this computer created chess game, that is programmed by Kasporav. It was set on 20 second thinking, which means the computer will take up to 20 seconds each move for the best possible move (DEEDEDEE) I will not tell you what side I am, please rate both sides and any moves that could be better for either way(you should be able to figure out what side I am anyway)
1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nf6 3. d4 Pxd4 4. Qxd4 Nc6 5. Qe3 Bb4+ 6. c3 Bb6 7. Bc4 Ng4 8. Qd3 Qf6 9. 0-0 0-0 10. Nd4 Bxh2+ 11. Kh1 Nxd4 12. Pxd4 Kh8 13. b3 a6 14. Ba3 d6 15. f3 Bg3 16. Pxg4 Qh6+ 17. Kg1 Qh2++ I know its probably not an interesting game, but any help/comments will be appreciated |

Re: Rate this chess game please
5. Qe3 is bad, you want to leave that diagonal as open as possible for the bishop. Standard move here is Qa4 or Qd1
not sure how the bishop goes from b4 to b6 in one move, so I'm going to assume you meant 6... bd6 10. Nd4 is obviously a mistake. h3 is much better. Then Black would have nothing better to do thatn retreat. 14. Ba3 is useless. The Bishop is much better going to b2 on the long diagonal. 15. f3 is falling for the premature trap. Bring your rook into the battle at e1 16.Pxg4 is just falling for the trap. Only hope is moving the rook |

Re: Rate this chess game please
Chuckles - I don't know if Qe3 is bad, in the position with the knights on g8 and g1 it is standard, even though it does look like it hinders the development of the bishop. But I have no idea about this line.
OP - don't worry about openings and stuff, try to work on basic tactics. For example find a book of 2 move mates and see if you can find them all. When your opponent leaves a piece where it can obviously be taken, see if he might have some plan in case you take it. |
