NL100 6-max, trips Q kicker
Button is 17/10 after 200 hands. Haven't really noticed him. Seems like a solid player. BB is like 80/20. One could call him a maniac. I am in SB w/ A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Effective stacks $100.
Stars NL100 5-handed Pre-flop Button opens for $3:50, I call, BB calls. Flop ($10) A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) I bet $5, BB folds, button calls. Turn ($20) 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) I check, button bets $10, I call River ($40) 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) I bet $20, button pushes for $61 more, I fold. Thoughts on all streets appreciated. |

Re: NL100 6-max, trips Q kicker
Glad to see you back posting a bit.
I think flop/turn are fine. I might have c/c-ed lead turn sometimes too, as it is the same line I take with pps and such on this sortve board. River is pretty ick. Few hands beat you at this point (pps made boats like 88/44/etc, AK, and maybe stuff like A8s or whatever). Here is some of the range I gave him. Was I too narrow? equity (%) win (%) tie (%) Hand 1: 47.8723 % 44.68% 03.19% { AcQh } Hand 2: 52.1277 % 48.94% 03.19% { 88, A2s+, A2o+ } |

Re: NL100 6-max, trips Q kicker
Well, that range seems pretty accurate judging from the way he played it up until the river. Only a small fraction of those hands is he likely to push with though. I woudl think a very small fraction. Although, we might be able to add a few hands that are now bluffing. KK-JJ etc. But they're not likely. Also, I am not 100% sure he is pushing A K here, as the board 3-flushed on river. And I am holding the Ah.

if you're going to bet, bet more on the flop, and if you're going to bet the river, bet more and call a push.

[ QUOTE ]
if you're going to bet, bet more on the flop, [/ QUOTE ] The reason I bet the flop, and the quite small amount, is partly because BB is a complete tool and might call with a bunch of [censored] drawing dead. If he has an A, I am getting his money either way. If button however, should wake up and being willing to invest 100BBs, I am not sure my hand is good by any means. [ QUOTE ] and if you're going to bet the river, bet more and call a push. [/ QUOTE ] As I folded the river, the bet is obv. a block. Don't really see what he is pushing over the top w/ that I beat. The risk is of course, he judges my play throughout the hand as weak, and might think he is value pushing a worse ace, but with the board 3-flushed on the river (and me with the Ah) I don't think that is v. likely. |

Re: NL100 6-max, trips Q kicker
Reraise preflop might be good, but lets not think about that.
With no read on the guy, I tend to lead the turn for $15, push if he raises. If you have a read that he is passive, you can lead for $15 and fold if he raises. I'm not that happy about checking the turn. As for the river, given how the hand played out, I think your line is good. |

Re: NL100 6-max, trips Q kicker
look at your line. you dont think the button is ever bluffing here?
i think he bluffs here enough, and thinks AJ is good enough to make the call. you have the A of hearts. just by looking at your line he might think you have a low ace and want a call with AT, AJ, etc. i call here.. but the river is my worst played street i think. |

Re: NL100 6-max, trips Q kicker
Seeing you, wtfsvi and jkkk posting again here is fantastic. Did you guys go on a trip to Mars together?
What do you put villain on? Obv. the flush at the end, but that means he's floating you on the flop basically with trash, right? That and 17/10 shorthanded don't seem to go together.... |

Re: NL100 6-max, trips Q kicker
The line is remarkably inconsistent. bet flop, c/c turn, b/f river. Without an insanely good read, folding this hand against all but the nittiest of players is very -EV. I could even argue that not taking a line to try and get all your money in here against villian's range is -EV.It would be one thing if you had AT or A9.
I would have reraised PF in most cases. This is a great hand to do that with as you're probably ahead of his button opening range, you'd like to get it HU, and AQo loses a lot of it's value OOP played this passively. As played, lead the flop bigger and c/r turn is my line of choice. Please stop looking for monsters. |
