Most of their best work was between 92-00... |

I know this is dumb to say in this thread, but...hardcore died for me in 1989. Most of the bands mentioned in this thread are just lesser versions of superior 80s bands or just blah metal. The Refused are great, but pretty much the exception.
Anyway, I don't mean to be a h8r. I just think the genre took a huge wrong turn around the time metal + emo started creeping in to the mix, and Victory Records became the template rather than SST. There are a few old school style bands like FYP that are OK, but they don't come close to the awesomeness of early DOA or Youth of Today or something. The thoughts of a snobby old guy, --GA |
