Default Live PLO 1/2 Deepish stacks

Live PLO 1/2 Game.

Maybe an interesting Hand, got a few more i might post up later

Villian is abit donkish, not aweful, but definatly a predominatly holdem player and not super experienced in omaha. Normally has a big hand for a big pot though. He's been running super hot also.

Hero SB (lil under 600)
Villan BB Covers (900)

Action
5 Limpers
Hero Completes in SB (A Q J 10) can't remember exact suits
BB Completes

Flop
A K J Rainbow
Hero Bets POT (~14)
BB Calls

Turn
A
Hero Leads for Pot Again? (~42)
Villian in BB ReRaises Pot (~170ish)
At this stage I realise im probably playing for my stack, and given this villian there is no river he isn't potting (the concept of pot control is beyond this villian etc).
He is not bad enough not to be full here, so his range is probably AKxx, KKxx, AJxx, JJxx. Given that i had the A and the J this increases his decreases his chance of AK here yes).
Hero Calls

River
6 or some blank
Hero Checks (Good?)
Villian Pots (~400) which puts hero all in
Hero Calls?

I think the range of hands you listed is what I would imagine too.

Consider this though, since you rep'd the straight on the flop, he could have been playing JJ or KK for the board to pair. I think two pair is less likely. Even a holdem player would know he has less outs to fill up. I think this balances him having KK or JJ instead of AK.

You are basically betting 550 on the turn to win 1200, 46% of pot. I would estimate at least 2/3 of the time you win, 1/3 you lose unless you can rule some hands as more likely, e.g. would he always raise with KK?

So .666*1200 = 800 (-550) for a +EV of 250.
I push all in on the turn. If he has the cooler, he has the cooler.

I suppose given the read that calling down is good, but if we think he has a small boat, shouldn't we be pushing the turn? A decent villain will check behind with a small boat on that board on the river.

haz,

When you are raised on the turn you are either split or beat unless you think he is being overly aggressive with JJ or a similar straight. That's not a good spot to be in when you are OOP and there is another street left to bet. So you have to rate the chances of him only having JJ or a straight very high to risk the rest of your stack when you otherwise will be beat or just be splitting. Thus I would fold, as even idiots make hands occasionally, and there is little chance of a checked river.

Bluff, your post makes it sound like you didn't see that the board paired on the turn.

I was referring to the throwing up on the table part.

Note that OP's read is that foe will jam the river 100% of the time. If that's true, and we decide not to fold the turn, then we can't risk pushing foe off a bluff either. If foe's behind he's not catching up (save for catching the case K if he has KKxx).

Sure I saw it. I saw that he has the 2nd nuts OOP and with significant money still left to bet. The principle I am applying is that one has to put an opponent on being overly aggressive with a worse hand a great percentage of the time to be willing to go to the felt with a hand that is otherwise splitting/beat.

Sorry, but I'm never laying down in this situation to this player in a live game.

Like someone else said, if he's got the cooler, he's got it.
In a live game you're gonna see KK, JJ, even stupid stuff like trip aces and broadway no boat here alot.
