Default Am I too weak here?

Villian is a 33/6.5/1.4 over 300 hands. Pretty fishy and anything but tricky.
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

MP2 ($216.15)
Hero ($196)

SB ($391.55)
BB ($197)
UTG ($200)
UTG+1 ($203.15)
MP1 ($308.60)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with K, A. SB posts a blind of $1.

Final Pot: $54

I really don't like chasing pairs with AK, but I will usually see a flop if it's cheap enough. Up against a fish here, I thought that AA or KK was possible and elected to wait for a better spot. How many would play this against a more aggressive villian where the AA or KK threat was less?

nothing wrong with that except that my reraise would be more in the 20-24 range.

Your re raise is far too small - 25 at least. Folding to the 4 bet is standard

I figure most would fault the size of my raise but I'm trying to encourage a call here and larger raises have eliminated the action.

If people are folding to your 3 bets, re raise more. That is not a good reason to raise smaller and allow weak hands in for cheap

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. If you don't get any action with large reraises, don't you have to reduce the amount. Wouldn't I want a couple of dominated hands in there, AQ, AJ, Ax.

fossil-

making a smaller reraise just makes it cheaper for your oponents to draw out on you. if you want action on your reraises, make them big but do them more often. theres another recent post about reraising, I suggest you look for it for a more complete discussion.

also, I think you'd do better posting in ssnl for now. the questions and confusions you have are very basic (both in this hand and the other one I saw) and you'll get better replies there.

Actually, I have been getting good responses to my posts. I would prefer to stay at this level because I am trying to move up to higher limits. I need to learn how the better players base their decisions.

I'm glad you recommended SSnl though, as there is some interesting reading that I never would have thought to visit.
