Forced update on a website
I've recently launched a new website (you can read about it on the Money Making forum).
Anyway. The index.html is where the newest advertiser of the site has an ad+some text. The problem is that I just uploaded the 3rd ad. When I then visisted the site (thisisthead.com) it still showed the old ad. I had to manually update (f5) to make the new ad+text appear. Is there a server side fix to this or is it just browser settings? Because it would suck if someone visisted the site and thought there was nothing new, when really there was. |

Re: Forced update on a website
It's browser setting.

Re: Forced update on a website
Got a response from another forum saying that:
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Pragma" CONTENT="no-cache"> in the <head> tag should do the trick. |

Re: Forced update on a website
both are kind of right, the meta tag will tell the browser not to cache the page, but you can also tell your browser to not cache the page in your IE settings.
