Default How\'s this line?

I have no notes on this guy other than noticing that he hasn't played a hand up to this point after 2 orbits.

WPEX 2/4... 8-handed

Preflop:
2 folds, MP2 raises, 4 folds, Hero in BB calls with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].

Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4.5BB)
Hero checks, MP2 bets, Hero calls.

Turn: 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3.25BB)
Hero checks, MP2 bets, Hero raises...

BDFD = 1.5 outs
Possibly tainted overcard = 1.5 outs
BDSD = 1 out

= 4 outs getting 5.5 to 1 + the chance we're ahead:

Does all this add up to a call?

Might we want to raise this flop for value for the times he doesn't have an ace?

I am totally lost here, d00ds.

No reads makes it a little more difficult. Flop c/c is fine and I actually like the c/r, which I'm sure some will disagree with.

The real question is how often does he hold Ax in this situation vs a PP? How low is x? There are 48 combos of AT+. There are 30 combos of pp he could have 99+. If he doesn't raise AT here then it drops to 36 combos vs 30. Is he capable of releasing a hand?

Either way it is more likely that he holds Ax than a pocket pair. There are just over 6 BB in the middle. He doesn't have odds to draw to what he may feel is a second best hand. This raise will be +EV if he is a thinking player, but even thinking players will start to come around and start to realize that everytime the board misses paint or an Ace they get played at they may start 3 betting you. At this time though, I like it.

Like it beter in position but its an ok semibluff. Standard is to call with outs raise with no outs. What do you do if he re-raises and what's your plan rest of the way?

if he 3-bets, then I call and fold the river ui. I forgot to mention that I was thinking that I was representing the 6's by waiting until the turn to raise. I'm also trying to fold a better A-high hand.

I don't like it because you are OOP.

The fact that he hasn't played a hand till now and is playing this one, means he has you beat on that flop.

It might be a decent semi-bluff, but I don't like it.

kumarshah,

You should turn your chat on--I was on a table with you at PS tonight, and I gave you a "sup bro"!

*grunch*

I don't think I would make the assumption that this guy is weak if he has the patience to not play for 12 hands or so and is betting the flop and turn out.

Reading this from MP2's end I would assume if he was worried about your call on the flop he would not have bet the turn, so he is not thinking you have a six or an 8. I would likely reraise you here myself as I would like that you have a very expensive draw to your flush here.

Therefore, I would not recommend doing this.

I like it. You get better hands (Ax) to fold with some regularity, plus you get a hand like KJ to incorrectly fold with 6 clean outs. But if you play a bluff this way, you should play trips this way sometimes as well.
