Top flush encounters scary board
This one was part of my review session. We were both wondering about what to do on the turn and river.

Re: Top flush encounters scary board
preflop is a fold or raise.
The turn sucks. It's such an obvious raise. CMon man! |

Re: Top flush encounters scary board
Pre-flop is probably a raise but I think I'm limping more with this than I should.
3-bet the flop, 3-betting flush draws is all the rage. Raise the turn. |

Re: Top flush encounters scary board
I would consider raising preflop to isolate if the guy sucks. On the flop, we have 9 outs at least... which gives us 4.11:1 hand odds, immediate pot odds are 7:2 = 3.5:1, but with implied odds we can make up the value. So yea, I agree with the cold-call. The turn, I would DEFINITELY raise/call 3-bet. If 3-bet I call down.

Re: Top flush encounters scary board
Why raise the flop? To isolate MP2, then c-bet the flop? (I'm just askin... training wheels chart says call).
The flop raise is a tossup for me. If I raise SB may well fold, pay 2 bets to get 1; if I just call SB will probably limp along so I get 1 to 1 (I don't mind SB in the hand cause I'm playin for the flush not the ace). But that turn needs serious pumping. |

kerowa- Three betting the flop sucks. [/ QUOTE ] That's what I think whenever I get 3-bet on the flop by someone with a flush draw. Which is pretty much most of the time, or at least enough that it sticks out. Not saying it's correct, more of a public awareness message. If you get 3-bet on a two flush board be aware of this play. |

Re: Top flush encounters scary board
*grunch* 3 bet raise the turn and call the river likely fh wins but pot odds would have made the call worth it.

Re: Top flush encounters scary board
I would have definately raised the turn. River hurts, but I'm probably calling anyway. Of course MP2 may check the river if you raised the turn, in which case I'd check behind.
