i'm thinking that if you don't play maniac-like, you probably won't be in a good position to win post-rebuy period. If you're only going allin every 7th hand or so (or less???), you simply won't have enough opportunities to double up. Plus you won't double up EVERY time you go in just because you play tight/tighter. so a conservative (relatively speaking) strategy might only cripple you.

maybe not, but in case the above paragraph is correct, I'm rebuying often next sunday.
