10/20 LIMCASH Session - 150 hands

I normally just play full ring, but recently have played some HU when the tables started to break (so not much SH or HU experience). Tonight, I absolutely got destroyed, dropping $1,500 in an hour. So, in an effort to try and suck less, I figured I'd post the session. It's 150 hands, but there are a lot of folds preflop for both of us (near the end there was a 3rd player who sat for a little while).

Last time I played HU, I think I played too loose and aggro. So, in this one I played tighter both preflop and postflop. I really think I played decent but took wayyyy the worst of it in luck. Though don't be afraid to tell me I suck and why.

Hand 13: I probably follow through w/ a turn bet, then check river unimproved.

Hand 26: I check raise flop.

Hand 36: Don't really like the cap preflop out of position w/ small pairs.

Hand 47: Probably bet the turn there.

Hand 73: Again I follow through w/ a turn bet.

Also, playing $10/$20 on HU on Party for any length of time the rake will destroy you. Probably need to play at least $30/$60, or have a large edge over your opponent to make worth it.

I’m just starting to play HU limit (and low limit at that) so I’m doing this post hoping for some discussion for my education as much as anything.

Hand 9 – you fold 6h 2h in the BB/button preflop. I call any two suited when the BB has the button.

Hand 13 – A9o BB board Jd 5h Th 5s, you bet the flop, checked the turn and river. I’d bet the turn and check the river.

Hand 14 – Q5o SB, I fold this unless I figure I have better than average fold equity. It’s too early to tell but it’s looking like fold equity may be pretty good preflop vs. this opponent.

Hand 23 – T5o BB, I fold preflop

Hand 27 – sb raises, J8o BB you reraise. I just call, this hand looks to be near the bottom of this opponents raising standards. And it doesn’t look like he’ll give up A high UI (not sure about K high though).

Hand 32 – T7o SB you raise, board 5h 8c 4s 8d Jc you bet the flop and turn, check the river. I would have bet the river, but I think your check may be correct. Not sure what better hands would fold here.

Hand 36 - 55 SB you cap, I just call the reraise.

Hand 37 – Qc2d BB, board Qh 9s 8h Th 7h, you cap the flop opponent leads the turn. I hate to fold top pair but here I think your not to aggressive opponent has shown enough strength that I fold the turn.

Hand 54 – I call down with AK UI, board 7s Qh 8d 2s. Not sure about this one, is this a leak in my game..

Hand 73 – AK BB, board 3d 6d 7h 6h 7s, I just check the river thinking no worse hand than A kicker can call here. Maybe you have a value bet here if you think a K kicker would call.
