Default Limit player seeking advice

Hello STT forum,

I am a 5/10 6-max, limidonk at Party Poker. The increased monster rake, my decreasing winrate, and some boredom have led me to leave my familiar realm in search of something different.

When at work, or when I need a change of pace, I'll play a Turbo27 at Stars. I've done pretty well at these, and it got me wondering. I am thinking of playing a run of Turbo/Speed SNGs to see what kind of profit I can turn. I've got a few questions that I hope someone will be kind enough to help me with.

1) Party or Stars? I have "unmentionable" at Party. I also have a decent roll at Stars. Party 22s, 33s? Stars 27s or 55s? Roll requirements?

2) How much tougher are the Stars 55s than the 27s?

3) Which tourneys, stars or Party, complete quicker?

4) What type of sample size is usually considered decent for looking at results?

5) How many multitabling, 2+2ers play in these games? More at one site or the other?

6) How many tourneys should I start out multitabling? 2,3? Probably just a personal preference here, but I'm covering all bases.

Is there anything else I should be considerings here? Anything important I overlooked? Any help or information is greatly appreciated.

The Faq at the top of the page addresses most of these questions in detail

BTW welcome to sttf I think you will enjoy single table tournaments as a nice change of pace.

Thanks. A faq. Who woulda thunk it?

Quick question? Which game completes faster? A Party Speed SNG 33or a Stars Turbo 27?

Huh. Well, looks like I may give the Party 33s a shot. We'll see. Thanks for the help.

Oh wait. When talking in terms of ROI, do you include the tourney juice?

For instance, 15% ROI at the party 33Speed SNGs =

.15 * 33
or
.15 * 30?

1. Debate rages on.

2. Do you mean Stars 60s? The 55s are regular, the 60s are turbos, as are the 27s. I've played a lot of 27s and taken a shot at the 60s and got killed. That said, however, I don't think they're all that much tougher. When you push and get called by a monster hand it's really not the fault of the buyin. If I had the roll, I think I could play the 60s.

3. Stars regular>Party regular>Stars turbos>Party speeds.

4. 1000 tournies.

5. A lot. Probably more total at Party, but more apparent at Stars since there are fewer players.

6. You should start out playing 1 table until you get the hang of it. Then 2, then 3, etc. Same as ring. You should also start out playing far below your roll. No since paying $100 an hour for the same lessons you can get for $50.

Don't play more than 5 tables or the buttons will disappear.
