\"standard\" -EV from the blinds?
I assume it has been discussed somewhere what kind of -EV one can expect when in the blinds, but I can't find it now.
I'm currently playing 3/6 (6 max) and I'm losing 0.02BB/hand in SB 0.19BB/hand in BB my sample size is fairly small (~2K hands in each blind position) so I guess that I will lose more from SB as I get more hands. Anyway, if someone could point me to a post where this is discussed or just give me a number... thanks a lot /gasoltub |

Re: \"standard\" -EV from the blinds?
Here's my stats, for comparison
3/6 6max, 25k hands breakeven in SB -0.10 in BB some relevant stats.. VPIP SB = 30% F SB to steal = 89% F BB to steal = 50% I dont see much talk about these particular stats too often. Care to post yours ? |

Re: \"standard\" -EV from the blinds?
I'd guess that you are defending your bb too much, especially given the structure of 3/6. with only a buck in there, the small blind will have to have a narrower range to steal with.

Re: \"standard\" -EV from the blinds?
I think the amount you lose in the BB depends entirely on what players you are facing. If you get to limp into every pot you will lose a lot less. I think anything under (0.15) is considered good.

Re: \"standard\" -EV from the blinds?
For starters I'm gonna defend less and read through this a few times more: "Sort of a general thought about defending blinds".
Then we'll see how my next 10K hands turn out. |

[/ QUOTE ] I may not be reading this right - I don't think the size of the SB affects what the SB will try to steal the BB with. |

I may not be reading this right - I don't think the size of the SB affects what the SB will try to steal the BB with. [/ QUOTE ] Of course it does. In a 1-2 structure the small blind is getting even money on a steal. In a 1-3 structure he is investing 5 chips to win 4. Bad players may no change there steal range depending on structure, but clearly in a 1-3 structure you need to tighten up significantly on your steals relative to a 1-2 structure. |
