Default Costa Rica?

So, being as I play/coach/write for a living these days, I've been thinking a LOT about traveling. I've only been to like 15 states and NEVER out of the country, so I figure this is the time to go. Money isn't a concern, but finding someone to go with is (I recently graduated college, so everyone either has a job, or is still in school, or is just financially unable to go).

So, recently I was approached by one of my best friend's cousins (26, taking a year off before med school to travel, GORGEOUS girl) about going to Costa Rica in October with her for two months, and then South America early next year. Costa Rica originally wasn't on my travel radar (I was thinking Australia/Asia/Europe), but after talking with a couple of people, I think it could be pretty cool.

Sooo, OOT, a cpl of questions for anyone willing to help me out/people who have been to Costa Rica before:

1-What will I do there for two months? My spanish is decent (studied it for 5 years), and I suppose I could take some refresher courses. My main interests would be to sightsee, and maybe do some adventure/sport-based things.

2-I plan on playing/coaching/running 3-bet during my time there, but I'm clueless about Internet. Places to find stable Internet connections (and high-speed)?

3-It's rainy season there from October to December, right? How bad will that be?

Also, any other thoughts/comments are much appreciated. Thanks guys.

The best part of travelling is figuring all that stuff out yourself...

Grow some sack and go for it.

Never actually been to Costa Rica so take this with a grain of salt.

You should not have trouble finding internet connections in Costa Rica. I don't know specifics about internet access but if you have an apartment or something you will be able to get reliable internet. They also have cyber cafes but I don't think you want to play poker for extended periods of time from those.

The rainy season basically means that for a portion of each day, every day, it will rain. It rains [censored] hard , anywhere from like 15 minutes to an hour or two. (This is what I learned about the rainy season in Nicaragua which is incredibly close to Costa Rica so I assume it is the same).

As far as adventure\sports, I'm not totally sure what you mean. You should be able to surf\explore forests, etc.

Taking a girl with you to Costa Rica is liking taking a bucket of sand with you to the beach.
