2nd hand at the table, no reads yet. 4 limpers, I complete Q9o in the sb, bb checks. flop is JT9 rainbow I check, bb checks, utg bets, 2 folds, button calls, I call, bb calls. turn is a 2 completing the rainbow check, I check, utg bets, button calls, I call, bb folds. river is a Q hero? what's best here against 2 opponents? I think both checking and betting both have merits. If I check and it's bet and raised before it gets to me, easy fold. If it goes bet/call, I would probably overcall but not feel great about it. OTOH, it's as scary of a board to them as it is to me if they don't have a king. A lot of worse pair/2pairs are going to be hard pressed to bet here but will probably call if I bet, so bet/fold has some positives. thoughts? |

Seems like a bet/fold to me. They'll check behind with two pair most likely, but they'll sometimes call with it. Checking also creates some uncomfortable situations like the one you just described.

Preflop: Standard.
Flop: I think you played this street nicely. Usually I jamb a pair and a draw, but in this case if you make your hand there's a good chance that you'll chop. Furthermore, nobody will pay you off with a worse hand if you do hit, and some of your opponents may hold some of your outs in their hand. Turn: Standard. River: If you bet here I don't think you get called by a worse hand, and I don't think you drive out a better one either. I prefer just checking. If there's a bet and an overcall I'd probably muck with no reads. If there's a bet and a fold I'd call, although I wouldn't necessarily feel comfortable about it... tough situation. Just my opinion... |

I bet/call if UTG raises and button folds, bet/fold if UTG raises and button CCs/3-bets, and bet/fold if utg calls/folds and button raises.
