Anyone with info on the Hooters Casino opening in Feb in Vegas?

I just saw a TV commercial about this today, and I'll be in Vegas for my very first time from Feb 20-24 (leaveing 7am of 24th). SWMBO is there for a conference, so I'm thinking during the day will be a good time to check out this place. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

Their web site doesn't offer much information other than it will be open for the Super Bowl and they will have a Poker Room. A google search resulted in me discovering it is in the old San Remo, and we're staying in the Excalibur (closest hotel to the conference that still had conference room rates). The web site claims that they are going to have low limit Hold'em.

Not that I'm great at hold'em, but I figure with the eye candy as well as a lot of people flocking to a new(or at least refurbished) casino it could be an interesting time. Anyone know anything more?

I'm heading out to vegas for the superbowl, well that weekend, I have no interest in the superbowl...

I called Hooters to ask about staying there, but I guess they're taking names and then calling people back the week before.

I've never been to the San Remo, but I'm sure it's going to be similar, when I was there in December it didn't look like they had made a huge amount of progress in the upgrades, but that was just the outside.

It's going to be a casino/hotel that looks like a Hooters restaurant. Thats kinda all there is to know, not sure what info you are looking for considering the place isn't open yet.

Were you curious about the decor, spa, pool, drink specials, etc?

Valid question. Mainly I was curious about what they were going to offer in the Poker room. They say low limit, but does that mean 2/4, 3/6, 4/8? I just figured this close to opening, some of these details had to be known by *someone*. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

I dunno man, I'm *GOING* to Vegas, first time, I'm stoked! Hell, I'll probably just be happy to go see the Bellagio water show, let alone play poker in a Hooters. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

I wont play there just because of the guy running the poker room. He's been "let go" of the last 2 rooms he was in in. One of which he was in charge of.

The girls on the other hand, might be worth it.

I think if you are going for the eye candy you are going to be disappointed. As I understand it they will have a single pit area with "Hooters Girls" dealing, something along the lines of Rio's Bikini Pit (is that still there?).

I think the Hooters gimmick is outdated and boring especially be vegas standards ---OOOH !! Waitresses in Oranmge Shorts and T shirts big deal.

i saw it when i was in vegas a couple of weeks ago and it looks exactly like the old san remo outside with hooters logo's covering the old san remo logo's.

i'm sure it will be pretty great on the inside, though.

Yeah, I was in Vegas each of the past six months, and it seems like they are making remarkably little progress.

They are having a lot more hooter girls than that. Will be checking you into your room at the registration desk and more..... Nothing like the little table setup at the RIO
