Default NL vs Limit (kind of incoherent)

I play .5/1 limit and $25 NL on party. when I play limit (which I thuroughly enjoy), i end up somewhere between break even and -1bb/100. At NL (which I enjoy a little more) I can (fairly) consistantly double my stack every few hours. I've read more books on limit than NL. I figure my larger profit in NL comes from one of these things:
1. I like NL a little better and would pay a little more attention
2. I play more NL live, and therefore have more of an idea of how people act and think playing NL
3. I'm better offering my opponent the odds I want to offer than giving him a set that i didnt choose.
or the probable
4. More NL players are fishy
If it's all of these, tell me which it is more. Also, is there any way I can fix this(maybe compare differences in between the games?)? This is really bugging me because there is a huge difference in my profits.
Major thanks to anyone who cares.

Over what time period? At .5/1, you are going to have a lot of players limping in, calling you down, and hitting their draws. Beatable over the long run, but sometimes the long run can be a long time.

Of course if you enjoy NL more & make more money playing it...

You don't have to play both games. Play whatever you enjoy the most, and feel you can make the most money at.

At NL (which I enjoy a little more)

probably the only thing that matters, especially at the stakes you are playing.

I used to think that NL was more profitable until I realized I didn't know how to play limit properly. Winning NL strategy can be quite a bit different than winning limit strategy. In fact, I can often spot the NL players at the limit table because they limp with AA preflop, then slowplay it on a duotone, connecting flop.

Personally I like limit because it is an active, aggressive game, where you push every edge you have and the play moves fast (since you have only three options for your actions). NL is more of a trapping game where paranoia and ego dominate and the play progresses more cautiously.

I think a lot of it comes down to the fact that a better player is going to force more mistakes out of his opponent in NL than limit. For instance, weak players will lose a lot of money on top pair because they simply cannot give it up, and betting the right amount in NL can extract exactly what theyre willing to give you.

I forget the statisics which I've heard someone mention, but the percent advantage a 'good' player has over a 'bad' player is a lot more in NL than limit.
