Basically I signed up at stars a while back and never played there at the time I used my last name as my username(stupid, but I was new to online poker). About 2 months ago I decided I'd give stars a try. I know a few people who play at stars regularly and did not want to use my my username since i wanted some level of privacy/anonimity from the people I knew played there. I inquired about changing it stating that I felt it could be a potential security/privacy issue to me and that I had not thought my username through properly when choosing it initially. I also noted that I had not ever made a deposit or played for real money at stars before. They emailed me within hours stating that under this rare case they'd be willing to make an exception. My account was closed (i could no longer log in) and I was able to create a new one. cliff notes: I'm an idiot, used last name as username. Complained to stars, they closed old account and let me open a new one.

one guy I know said he was getting clean off drugs, and he wanted to change his name b/c he wanted a fresh start and the old name reminded him of his past problems, they let him change it -
he fabricated the story
