Default AA...how is my line

Been burned with AA for a while now no matter what speed I choose to play them...Is this line okay given the stack sizes and my being OOP? Also the villan is pretty new but seems to like to play Pots but I have no real reads.

Hero raises to $5
Button calls $3.50.

Turn$13.25) 9C

Bet the flop and push the turn.

I essentially did that but via a check raise 7.50 bet on the turn virtually put the villan allin.

Since you don't have a read, I always bet the flop. This will often be checked behind - which leads to the following:

1 - Smaller pot
2 - Possibility of villain catching up (two pair, set, etc.)

You said you've been losing with AA lately. Giving the opponent a free turn is one way to ensure this happens more often.

true...just bad mojo though...even if I get it all in I've found crazy ways to lose...case in point...he had Q8 here for second pair and called of all his chips and hit runner runner str8...Not sure how I can stop someone from making such a bad (and profitable) play!!!

That is just overhead. It sucks but it is the cost of doing business.

You played this particular hand too tricky and were lucky villian bet the flop.

What I'm saying is the point of no-limit poker isn't to get them to fold. It's to get them to make mistakes. If they make bad calls you should rejoice & be happy, even if you lose. Not be frustrated & bet more next time so they can't call with thier runner-runner draw.

Playing this hand in such a way so that he calls a big bet with hiis runner-runner draw is +EV poker. Making a bet so big that he makes a correct fold is confused poker.
