Just another run-in with a nit...or was I the nit?

3-6-12 with the usual suspects at a local B&M. 2+2er Wai is in seat 9, I'm next to him in seat 10. Nit with a Dale Jr. hat and shirt is in seat 3. He'd run his stack up to $450+ thanks to playing every hand and hitting his longshots. Just the usual loose/passive/sometimes aggressive player drinking way too much and winning. Except that this one was ragging losing players after every pot he won.

Example: After some awesome pre-flop action, i.e. capped with 8 players, I'm betting top 2 to the river. Nit rivers his flush and says to me, "Boo-yah biatch! I got the [censored] nuts!", as he turned up his K Duece sooted. Just another nit talking trash, no biggie.

His stack slowly erroded away down to less than $200, and the nit was obviously getting aggravated at his change of fortune when this hand comes up-

I'm in MP. Folded to Wai who raises, I peek and see A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and re-raise. Nit calls, Wai caps, we both call. 3 to the flop which is 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Wai checks, I bet out, nit calls, Wai c/raises, I re-raise, nit folds, Wai calls.

Turn and river are both Aces. We capped the turn, and then bet/called the river knowing that each other had and Ace. Turns out Wai had A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Then the conversation goes like this-

Nit: I KNEW you had nothing!
Me: Wtf are you talking about? I have 3 aces.
Dealer: Watch your language sir.
Me: Sorry.
Nit: No, no! On the flop, you had NOTHING! I KNEW it!
Me: If you KNEW I had nothing, why didn't you call?
Nit: Shut up! Money means nothing to me! This is just for fun. I play SERIOUS poker for SERIOUS money.
Me: Really? You play SERIOUS poker for SERIOUS money? Wow! What is that? 4-8 or 10-20?
Others at the table: (snicker) (snicker)

By now, the floor had come over to see what the commotion was all about. The floor is a member of 2+2.

Nit: Okay Mr. Bigshot, I'll play you for One Thousand dollars!
Me: Okay.
Floor: You two can play at this empty table right over here. (Gesturing) What will the game and stakes be?
Me: Whatever he wants. (At this point I'm standing and pulling out my wad of cash)
Nit: (Stammering now) Well....I don't have time right now....but the NEXT time I see you, I'll take you on! (Nit is now racking up)
Me: You want my number?
Nit: (He just glares at me and leaves the table)

I like the move here. He was berating other players and ruining the general mood. It seems as if the other players enjoyed your comments and I wonder if that loosened up the table. Generally, when an a-hole sits down, talks trash, and yells about how people play a hand, the rest of the table tightens up and the game sucks.

I can just picture him walking away as fast as possible to get away from everyone laughing at him.

Seriously though I have NO problem asking the dealer/floor to ask the "gentleman" to curb his language.

This thread indicates that you don't know what a "nit" is. I don't see any "nittish" behavior in this thread at all. Nits generally aren't drunk, and almost never wear NASCAR shirts.
