i think you have to fold...pretty ridiculous laydown. i guess you could call or fold, but i think folding is better. i mean, i don't think he can shove assume you'd fold an ace, right? you'd potted the flop and the turn, i just can't imagine anything other than a flush. unlikely full house or bluff.

I think you have to fold. Either that is an unbelievable bluff for that level or you've been outdrawn.
Villain could have been slow-playing a flopped set that boated on the turn, and is pushing in the hopes you were on a flush draw, or they could have made the flush themselves and are hoping you have an ace in your hand. To me, a bet like that on that river card screams a made hand that is hoping for a loose call. |

Re: ($225) Fold straight on river scare card?
Ryan,
I like the full pot bet on the flop betting into three others, but once you get to the turn HU, I think you can get away with betting say t180 rather than t240, which would bring the pot on the river to t600 instead of t720. I don't know if that would make an enormous difference in villain's bet, but it might make it at least a little easier to get away from. |

i think this would be a terrible river fold.
basic hand reading has got him on an a more often than not. i also strongly dislike the riv. check. |

[/ QUOTE ] yeah with the check on the turn i think an A (or worse) pushes more often than not because he isn't afraid of the flush after the way you played the hand, so i think you have to call this- also is first hand of tournament so many donks are still around at any level of play. -dm |

Re: ($225) Fold straight on river scare card?
I have never played at these stakes, but in the $25 & $50, I would call. I expect to see a rag ace often enough, sometimes a strong ace. I think the flush is unlikey, if we are beat, I would think full house more so than flush.
