Default Ebay dispute - Paid for something that could have got for free

I bought an item on ebay that was supposed to be a guide that was going to be sent electronically to me after I bought it. It was a buy it now auction and there were a few that could have been bought. When I got the item, a pdf file via email I noticed very quickly that this item was taken directly from an internet site and the guide (the item) itself was sponsored by Coke-Cola. I go to the website that is on the guide and realize that the guide is a free guide that the site gives to promote their site. Not only that but the guide that he sent was actually older and out of date compared to the one on the site.

So I send an email to the seller about this and he goes on saying that he didn't know that it was a free item but I say who cares because he is selling an item that he thought he paid for and is probably held to some copyright or such.

I'm pissed that I paid for what amount to nothing but I'm also concerned that others are going to get fooled as well. What's your play?

I think you're an idiot for buying it and now you have to live with those consequences.

You paid for the directions to the free guide.

Like a treasure map to a hidden trove of coupons.

Think of it that way.

And then kill yourself.

Reading that hurt my head. Next time, don't by a guide from an ebay seller and also put your post in Word to get the spelling mistakes out of it.

He offered a product you paid, that's all there is to it. He shouldn't compensate you for being a moron.

I'm concerned that other people are going to buy it as well and wanted to warn other bidders.

You're right but, he sold copyrighted material from someone else, its not his product.
