Re: Which is easier to beat: Poker, or Business?
200k is a basic level to discuss.
What about $300K, $400K or more? What about simply 100K? |

Re: Which is easier to beat: Poker, or Business?
I think you can teach practically anyone simple, autonomous poker. I don't think you can teach business savvy. I say poker if we're talking about a large, random sample of people.

Re: Which is easier to beat: Poker, or Business?
My assertion is that business offers a much wider range of addressable oppotunity than poker EVER will, for typical participants.
That said, Mr. Now notes that an extensive hard-core poker education is truly great preparation for starting entreprenuerial businesses. |

[/ QUOTE ] IMO... 50k: definitely poker 100k: probably poker 200k: probably business 500k+: definitely business But it depends a lot on your aptitude for poker. For some $50k at poker would be impossible. eastbay |

Re: Which is easier to beat: Poker, or Business?
I don't really understand the point of the thread, as IMO there aren't enough people with enough experience in both fields to make the judgement on a poker forum .
some mid stakes players and most high stakes no limit players would say poker is easier to make 200k/year with, but maybe they will change their perception once they learn more about the mechanics/understanding of entrepreneurship. (which i hope to do ). |

[/ QUOTE ] this was close to what came to my mind. obviously the higher you go the further towards business it goes due to the fact that as many here have discussed, poker is really simply a job with an hourly rate that has limits whereas a good business can often have relatively unlimited returns. this is why in my mind poker is really just an easy way to make money to start companies. |

Re: Which is easier to beat: Poker, or Business?
The question is unclear. A good start would be to define exactly what you mean by easier, business, and beating it. Are we talking about which of the two is it easier to make money at? I don't understand.
