Two Borgata trip reports
Last week
As The DaveR reported last week he and I went down to Atlantic City last Saturday to enjoy one of our last weeks as fellow New Yorkers. As always the negotiation for what time to take the Academy bus from Port Authority involved Dave telling me which bus we would take (the 8 AM one) and me agreeing. Getting cash for live play has become an interesting endeavor for me since I don't keep a cash roll. I'm a big fan of the NETeller ATM card but recently they lowered their daily withdrawal limit to $800. Anyway, I scraped together like around $2,000 (in $20s!), popped an Ambien, and was ready to go. Of course I arrived way early at Port Authority and left a quixotic message to Dave to try to get on the 7:30 bus. As it was, he was keeping KPT (Korean People Time) and we were literally the last two people on the 8 AM bus. There were two seats left, and being a gentleman Dave took the better of the two, leaving me with the absolute worst seat on the bus, the one right next to the bathroom. By my count there were 7 people who took a pee (while I was awake--I took a Dramamine and was asleep for the last hour of the trip) and no poopers, unless they were speed-poopers. We arrived at Resorts (I think), cashed in our $17 vouchers, and took a cab to Borgata. We both got in the same $20/40 where we stayed until about midnight. I missed a few bets and had a few interesting hands and ran well so I was enjoying myself more than I typically do when playing live. This was my first time at the Borgata's new poker room and I am quite impressed. With the Borgata's push to get all of the Taj's stud games, $20/40 hold'em players kind of get the shaft by not being in the "high limit" room but whatever. Fatburger is definitely good but nowhere near as good as In N' Out--looks like Borgata picked the wrong West coast burger chain. There was a pretty nutty young guy in our game who pounded 7&7s and played seemingly maniacally, although Dave feels he may have been a winning player nonetheless. He headed over to the $40/80 where Dave followed him, and I wussed out and stuck to the $20/40 for the rest of the night. Around midnight we took a cab to whichever casino the bus was leaving from at 1:00 AM. We had plenty of time left so I challenged Dave to a video poker race which involves seeing who can lose their $20 the fastest. I cemented my win when Dave hit quads to run his $20 up to like $160 (what a sucker!) and I soon went busto. This week A good friend of mine and his father-in-law were going to the Tropicana where they were being comped a room. I managed to twist DrSavage's arm and convince him to go to Atlantic City so he picked me up at Broadway and Canal at 8:30. We hit some nasty traffic and the Doc thought we were lost several times (when we weren't) and we arrived at the Tropicana to meet my friend only to find that the Trop charges TEN FREAKING DOLLARS FOR PARKING. Unbelievable. Doc decided to head to Borgata. I hadn't been to the Trop's poker room since I started playing poker about 5 years ago. Biggest limit game they had was the pink chip game, which I remember fantasizing about playing a few years ago. I got on the list but there wasn't any movement and eventually I gave up and headed over to the Borgata via Jitney--a first for me. I am officially a huge Jitney fan and now refuse to take taxis in Atlantic City since they lifted their $8 cap. I got to the Borgata and somehow managed to find the poker room (I don't think there's anyone who gets more disoriented in casinos than me.) I got on the list for the $40/80. There were two tables going, one a must-move. I was called for the game and went to the cage to buy two racks of blues (unloading 2 $1000 bundles of $20s!) and ran sick hot for like the first hour. The must-move table was a really good game with several weak spots. I got moved to the main table where I felt less comfortable and it was definitely a worse game. I probably should have picked up but I got stubborn and was enjoying myself (I was seated next to several very cool guys--Marco, Peter, and a guy whose name I forget) so I stuck it out. I booked a small win and definitely am more confident about playing mid-limit games, even though I'm still not a huge fan of playing live at this point. Doc and I headed back around 9 PM and when we stopped for gas we ran into the surliest gas station attendant we have ever seen. The Doc was nice enough to detour into Williamsburg even though I didn't exactly know where I was. Overall another great trip and I'm glad to have popped my $40/80 cherry. -Brad |

Its time for a cherry popping party! Happy to hear the sand has been removed from your vagina, there is nobody who deserves a sand-free vagina as much as Bdk3Clash!

Hold a sec bdk,
You took an Ambien, but it was the Dramamine that put you to sleep? Any spare Ambiens, btw? RJT |

Re: Two Borgata trip reports
I took an Ambien the night before and the Dramamine on the bus. Both put me out pretty good .

Re: Two Borgata trip reports
My position is that if I'm playing it it isn't high limit.
