Default We need to call more often on the river after inducing a bluff.

Here are three hands where I make an attempt not to be so weak-tight. In each of them I induce a bluff on the river and call with great emotional distress.

HAND 1
Seat 1: x ($103.50)
Seat 2: Villain ($65.40)
Seat 3: x ($56.60)
Seat 4: x ($0)
Seat 5: x ($18.30)
Seat 6: Hero ($100.40)

<font color=" blue">Hero is UTG with one blind+dead poster posting.
Villain is semi-tight, above-average but probably a breakeven player.</font>
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to Hero [K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]]
Hero raises to $5, x folds, Villain calls $5, 2x folds
<font color=" blue">Kind of a marginally +EV play, no? Raising KQo from UTG, but there is dead money in the pot.</font>

*** FLOP *** [Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]]
Hero bets $10, Villain calls $10
<font color=" blue">Standard 4/5ths pot CB</font>

*** TURN *** [Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]] [7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]]
Hero bets $14, Villain calls $14
<font color=" blue">Villain's range includes a flush and a straight draw and a slowplayed set.</font>

*** RIVER *** [Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]] [9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]]
Hero checks, Villain bets $20, Hero calls $20
<font color=" blue">Since I only have TPKK I just check, hoping to induce a small bluff, right? I suppose I could have put out a blocking bet but I might have been called only by hands that beat me and he would have folded any potential bluffing hands. Since my whole point was to induce a bluff I HAD TO CALL, since I'm trying to become less of a "weak" player. Now I know a call is "weak", but folding seems weaker and betting out seems dumber.</font>

Results in white.
<font color="white">*** SHOW DOWN ***
Villain shows [A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]] (a pair of Nines)
Hero shows [K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]] (two pair, Queens and Nines)</font>

HAND 2
Seat 1: Villain ($101.50)
Seat 2: x ($164.60)
Seat 3: Hero ($125.05)
Seat 5: x ($250.80)
Seat 6: x ($134)

<font color=" blue">Hero is in the BB.
Villain is new to me.</font>
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to Hero [A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]]Kick ass!
2x folds, Villain raises to $3.50, x folds, Hero raises to $10, Villain calls $6.50
<font color=" blue">Standard raise, I could have raised more but I don't want to "waste my aces" and push someone off.</font>

*** FLOP *** [7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]]
Hero bets $13, Villain calls $13
<font color=" blue">Standard CB. Villain's range includes set, jack, and straight draw.</font>

*** TURN *** [7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]] [5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]]
Hero bets $25, Villain calls $25
<font color=" blue">Straight draw has connected. I'm now officially worried. His range is of course a slowplayed straight.</font>

*** RIVER *** [7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]] [T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]]
Hero checks, Villain bets $53.50, and is all in, Hero calls $53.50
<font color=" blue">I induce a bluff on the river. If he had a straight, would he push here or bet smaller to get me to call more often? I already showed weakness by checking, I induced a possible bluff, so I call and pray.</font>

Results in white.
<font color="white">*** SHOW DOWN ***
Villain shows [7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]] (a pair of Sevens)
Hero shows [A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]] (a pair of Aces)</font>

HAND 3
Seat 1: x ($93.90)
Seat 3: x ($50.50)
Seat 4: Hero ($156.85)
Seat 5: x ($69.70)
Seat 6: Villain ($100)

<font color=" blue">Hero is on the button.</font>
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to Hero [K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]]Kick ass!
2x folds, Hero raises to $3.50, x calls $3, omarRum raises to $13, Hero calls $9.50, x calls $9.50
<font color=" blue">Villain is a TAG. I just call with kings (I know that is weak, but against a TAG re-raising preflop when he is out of position I'm not taking too many chances. Besides, he probably thinks I'm just stealing.</font>

*** FLOP *** [6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]]
x checks, Villain bets $20, Hero calls $20, x folds
<font color=" blue">I let the villain make his CB, just calling on a draw-heavy board where villain most likely does not have a draw.</font>

*** TURN *** [6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]] [8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]]
Villain checks, Hero checks
<font color=" blue">I would float here, but since I am suspicious of aces, I just check.</font>

*** RIVER *** [6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]] [3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]]
Villain bets $67, and is all in, Hero calls $67
<font color=" blue">Villain sees my weakness and pushes. If he had aces or a flush, wouldn't he bet a bit smaller to have me make a crying call? I'm not suspecting a flush since he is TAG and most TAGs dont re-raise AKs. Even if he did have AKs, I have the suited K, so he would have to re-raise with AQs, which is not likely.</font>

Results in white.
<font color="white">*** SHOW DOWN ***
Villain shows [Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]] (two pair, Queens and Eights)
Hero shows [K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]] (two pair, Kings and Eights)</font>
