Default check or bet this river

Villain is loose passive. Comments on all streets welcome, but I'm mostly concerned about the river. I've been getting raised a lot on the river so I've been reverting to checking lots of these - wrongly I think. Thoughts on betting / folding vs. check / calling this?

Thanks

Against a loose passive I'd bet/fold the river.

That's a pretty bad check. All 4s,2s,6s, and 5s that call your bet will check behind.

If he's loose and passive enough to call a 3 to the river he's loose and passive enough to call a 5 which will call a bet but probably not bet.

However, it would be a hard bet/fold for me to make without having seen him play. I'd probably invent enough combinations of 45 and 25 that raise the river to call getting 9 to 1.

I'm b/fing against a passive and b/cing against pretty much everyone else. I check and fold the 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] against most opponents though.

No idea why you are checking this river on this board. Its about as nonthreatening as you get.

unless some jackass has a 3

Yeah, I agree. I completely wussed out. I think it's a clear betting situation.

With this action, I don't think so. The passivity of the opponents in this hand increases the chances they are drawing. Even then I think there is a very small chance they would bet a worse hand if checked to on a river 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Remember it looks just as scary to them as it does to us.
