Default WSOP Day 1 aks

50/100

Semi-Pro is sitting to my left, he has been aggressive and has a stack over 17K. I have been moved to the table about 3 orbits before with ~12K. Hero has not been out of line once at this table.

Hero opens T300 UTG with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]; semi-pro calls UTG+1; MP2 calls; MP3 calls.

Flop (T1350) A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Hero bets T700; UTG+1 calls; MP2 folds; MP3 folds

Turn (T2750) 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Hero checks, villain bets T1800 hero calls;

River (T6550) 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Hero checks; villain bets T2800; hero calls.

Anyone fold the river?

I couldn't do it, but that, BY A LONG SHOT, doesn't mean a damn thing. Hell, I might even c/r the Turn, but I'm sure I'll burn in 2+2 Hell for such a thing

I guess it's close on the river, but I still call because I think the times he checks behind with AQ are offset by the times he value-bets AT/QQ.

He's going to have AJ a lot, but not enough for you to fold.

And well played, good turn check.

I wish I could find a fold on the river, but I can't. The odds you're getting are too good, IMO.

I mean, I'm trying to think of hands he could have that you beat; not missed clubs because he probably checks behind with a club draw. Not AQ because he probably checks that behind on the river. I mean, maybe he tries to go to value town there with that, but it seems kind of doubtful. Maybe he has something like 88-TT and is trying to take you off the ace, but he would bet more if he were doing that...

You're going to see a whole lot of 2p or set here, I think. Enough to lay down TPTK getting 3.3:1? Maybe, but it's very close. Throw in some random weird bluffs, and I think it's fine. I'm a calling station, so I call.

If this guy is good he really should have at a minimum AQ suited. And then he would usually check this river behind anyway, unless he is making some sick bluff against your pretty obvious AK/AQ once you check-call the turn.

Are bluffs even possible? He called your bet into 4 people on a scary board with two people to act behind him, he should have a big hand and should fold gutshots.

This looks like a Set or you are chopping at best.

This looks like a fold against most sane opposition.

I like a flop check, unless its a really passive table.

He never has AJ here. He has JJ, 77, or nothing.

I don't know what to do here, you're probably not good. Checking the flop might be a good place to start. Bleh, this is really hard.

And...?

This is a lot like the hand I posted. I think I check this on a decent table and go from there.

As played, it's jacks, sevens or AK. He knows what you have and doesn't care, so fold the river.
