Default Opening a legal cardroom

I'm just toying around with the idea but I am somewhat curious.

How would I go about opening a legal cardroom?

How much would it cost?

What countries/ states could I open it in?

Where should I open it in?

when answering consider that all of this would have to be under about a $300k initial deposit.

Tables (6): $1000 each
Chips (5000 customized) : $5500
Furnishings
Space Rental
Security/Cage
etc

You're looking at $15-20k to get started right.... not even considering gaming licenses and legal matters.

thanks for that, quite helpful, however I'm not sure that begins to cover what the expenses would be.

What is a legal card room? I mean can you even do it without being a casino?

Actually considering moving to a new country to start this sounds like a little more than toying around.

Also for expenses, don't forget to include food/drinks if you plan on serving them (and then maybe a liquor liscence) as well as a supply of new decks of cards and finding/hiring/training/paying dealers.

What state are you in now?
A nice thing about employing people in your cardroom is that they will all work on tips. I have even known places to take 15% from their dealers tips.
