Default Do you Like this Check behind? party 20+2

Just started this tourney, so no reads on villian except I think he's a little on the passive side, calling raises PF a lot.

Usually I'd value bet this river, but I've been really trying to think things through lately. Why is he calling me? Jx is certainly in his range (QJ/KJ/AJ).

Comments on all streets of course welcome.

I think it's fine. When I think about whether to 'value bet' or check behind after I have been controlling the option I always wonder if I'd be absolutely disgusted, somewhat disgusted, not disgusted at all, or elated if the villain pulled off the check raise on the end.

This would probably be 'absolutely disgusted' because with that board he would either have had a crazy straight or banged out trip jacks.

I think the check is a fine play here.

Dave,

I like checking behind here. You have 415 chips left, and he has you covered plenty. It's the safe move, but you think Jx is definitely in his range. If you bet, you might as well push. Your last bet was 250, and betting that or more makes you totally ineffective.

Push or check here. I doubt he's folding to the push, though, and I like the check because you have a vulnerable hand and not much of a read.

I don't think he checks every street with trips. I'd bet like like 300 here.

Betting 300 here is worthless. He's leaving 115 behind in his stack, and might as well push, right?

I think if he's betting, he's pushing here.
