Default Living room plan for condo...

I am a junior at a large university in the south. My roomate and I are living in a nice 2 bedroom 2 bath condo.

Place has carpet and the bedrooms are both 12x15 (about).

Now our living room/dining room is about 18x20 and it is basically a BIG open room.

Since we both like to party, I am wondering what the best layout for the living room would be? How should it be set up for parties? What about getting a table or beer pong ect.? Should we build a mini bar for parties?

Any and all suggestions would be awesome. Thanks guys!

Carpet + Beer pong/mini bar/parties = destroyed carpet.

But if you want to do that, get those easy slider things and put them under your couch, etc. and then move them to the sides of the room when you party.

Buy more couches and chairs. Mattresses on the walls. Mirrors on the ceiling. Throw it all together and you got yourself a stew there baby.

Thanks. What do you think about a bar area to mix up drinks (I have lots of bartending experience). Should there be a table for when we play drinking games?

Any other suggestions?

You definately need a table for games somewhere. If there's not enough room in the kitchen, get a large coffee table for the living room. Actually, you'll need a coffee table anyway; where else will people put their drinks and poutine?

If you can find a tall table to put up against the wall, that might make do as somewhere to put all your drink mixing goodies. Building a bar would be slick as well.

make a conversation group in one corner and put the entertainment center where you can see it from the conversation area...put a couple smaller chairs almost anywhere so they can be moved around for a game table/poker table try to make it so you don't have to walk through the conversation area to go through the room, if the room is a thoroughfare.

with a big room like you have, you can move a sofa or loveseat or sectional away from a wall and have a desk behind it to pug a computer on it where you can watch tv if you wish.
