5/10 6-max: AA vs 3 all ins
Been thinking on this one a lot. Session just started, no real reads.
I have just over my 1K buy in at the time, slightly more than the two major players in the hand (discounting shorty). UTG limps. Short stack next to act (only $180 in front of him, I didn't witness the hand that crippled him) makes it $40. I flat call in CO with AA hoping UTG gets frisky and isolates. BB calls, UTG calls. Hmmm. 4 to flop, $160ish in there. 7 5 3 two hearts. UTG checks, shorty checks, I bet $140 or so, whatever shorty has left. BB and UTG both insta-call, literally as fast as can be called online. Shorty calls off his remaining. Turn is another 3, black. UTG checks again, I check (?), hoping to C/R depending on action. BB also checks. River is J of spades. BB immediately shoves his remaining $620 or so, just over the pot size. Insta-shove. UTG times down and finally calls. I time down and muck. |

Re: 5/10 6-max: AA vs 3 all ins
dont get greedy preflop. utg is likely to call with his mid pocket pair to try to hit his set rather than isolating the short stack. so just reraise and take the short stack's bucks.

Checking when you are last to act, hoping to c/r, must be some like 8th level thinking that I have not yet mastered.
When you take the risk of slowplaying preflop, you encourage others to get in on the action. Letting people in with marginal hands, then playing weakly, is a great way to put yourself to a tough decision. NT |

Couldn't agree more. You just don't have enough information here to know what to do. I'd let it go on the river.

Re: 5/10 6-max: AA vs 3 all ins
sigh. Forgive me. Yes I checked the turn closing the turn action. Sorry, long night. Obviously I didn't intend to C/R turn.
Please re-evaluate given that addendum. |

Re: 5/10 6-max: AA vs 3 all ins
I think the turn check is fine. So on the turn, if I have this right, we have one shorty all in and 2 more players plus you? Sounds like someone is slowplaying. I check turn and fold to this river bet.
You screwed this up by not reraising preflop. Stop worrying about people getting frisky and trapping; make the standard reraise with AA in this spot. |
