There is a book written about him, Johny Magic and the Card Shark Kids. You can get the iTunes audio book at this link if you want to check it out

i played in the 3k limit event and someone got moved to our table who looked exactly like jon finkel. i hadnt seen a jon finkel pic in a couple years though so i wasnt sure it was him but i was pretty sure. i didnt play with him for long so i dont know how good he is, but im told hes a very solid limit holdem player.

Yup, and it's a great read even for non-magic/ex-magic players.

I read the book recently and found it very interesting but was left with the impression that he really isn't a great poker player. At least the book failed to show otherwise. And a pokerpages search for him confirms that idea. Seemed more like they hyped up the poker aspect to sell books, but the parts about magic and card counting were great.

I wouldnt be suprised if he was good at poker like he is good at magic. Anyone who can not play magic for a year then show up and pwn must at least be decent at poker.

That book was garbage lol, nothing but exaggerated stories. Anyway, MTG players have 3 bracelets already this year.
