rebranding is +EV
Ceasar's IN is getting ready to change their name to the Horsehoe. The general felling around southern IN is, it is crazy to spend that much money just to change the name.
To my delight I have learned that in the rebranding process, Billy Marshall, the poker room manager, has ordered two dollar chips. $6-12 will soon be a 3 & 6 chip structure, let the good times roll!

I saw somewhere yesterday that Harrah's plans to change Bally's in AC to either Horseshoe or Rio. Maybe they're just gradually phasing out excess brand names...though I can't see Caesars being one they'd drop.

[/ QUOTE ] they will probably rebrand Bally's in LV first. the AC property has a bigger market share and would be more sensitive to a major change. also, Horseshoe is the more likely "new name" candidate since the Rio LV is currently being speculated in a corporate swap with Barbary Coast.

[/ QUOTE ] My (unreliable) sources say that Caesars is (and will continue to be) one of Harrah's "premier" brands along with Horseshoe; this same source claims that the Tunica Grand Casino will "soon" be re-branded as Caesars.

The poker room manager told me they were rebranding. He did not tell me the new name, maybe it will Ceasar's Horseshoe, Harrahshoe, Ceasarshoe or my favorite Horseceasars.

My guess on this is it is part of a three year plan to name the Horseshoe in Hammond to Harrah's. Harrah's lost there name in NW Indiana when Resorts East Chicago took over. There has been a lot of rumors about having a 36 table poker room in there new super large boat when it arrives in 2008.
