Default NL50: QQ on KKx flop

I'm still not experienced enough at NL to tell if I'm clever or just a donk.

I'm at a horrible table (3 good, but not great, TAGs and 1 fish), and I open UTG for $2 with QQ ($59). It's folded to the TAG BB ($58) who makes it $6. I call.

Flop is KK3r. BB bets $10 into a $12 pot and has about $40 behind; I push for $50.

My reasoning: AK wouldn't pot it here. AA, QQ-88ish might, especially since I just called the raise preflop. If I push, I'm only making a mistake against AA (and the unlikely AK), and if he has AA and folds I win. If he has JJ-mid pair and calls I win. If AK potted it, it could only be because he thinks I won't believe it, but we don't have a history yet. Seems like AK would make it a 1/2 pot bet, just to look like a continuation.

Edit: added stack sizes.

KQ or KJ might play this way as well and to those you are very behind. Discount KQ because you have two Q's already.

Since I think that you are still ahead of most of the range the push looks ok to me.

Although, lately I've been pushing into better hands a lot.

TAG BB - the reraising range for guys like this is fairly small. Unless he cbets quite a bit, I don't think you're as far ahead as you think you might be.

Pushing isn't too transparent, I'd call the flop for deception and see what the turn brings ... although at that point you both have PSBs...

If I was villain and held AK I would bet this flop nearly every time.

Your analysis completely hinges on the fact that his standard continuation bet isnt close to pot. If it is, you are very likely crushed here by AK. In this instance, I think I usually call and evaluate the turn and hopefully see a cheap showdown.

Something I've been wondering: Is reraising him back preflop ever a good idea here? This way you can basically represent a plethora of great hands on the flop and a TAG will usually give you the respect due if you havent had a history of betting him out of a lot of pots.

Call flop and use your position on the turn. If TAG bets turn we can probably fold (depending on size, obv), otherwise bet about 2/3 pot. I dont think pushing has much value since against this player i dont see what worse hands are reraising pf and calling this flop ai

Call flop and see the turn. He's not calling your push with any hand you beat if he's a TAG. See if he fires a second barrel on the turn.

Thanks everyone for the commentary.

Wouldn't a flop call on that board be suspicious to you? If you have TT, would you be done with it, or would you call a smallish bet on the end? What about the turn? Would you ever put any more money in on this board with a smaller pocket pair?

Seems hard to get money from hands I beat here.

I'm a beginner as well, and trying to understand the analysis, so forgive this stupid question... what does TAG stand for?
