Default WSOP Day2 a7o

Hero is one of the shorter stacks at the table with ~17K. Hero has been very active. Villain is a pstars qualifier and has been chasing too many hands he has ~80K.

250/500/50

Folded to hero (a7o) in MP3 who raises to T1800. Folded to villain in the BB who calls. I think his range is pretty wide and an ace is out of the question.

Flop (T4350) AQ2r

villain checks, hero checks.

Turn (4350) 2 completing the rainbow

villain checks hero bets T2200, villain calls

River (10,750) Q

Villain bets 3000, Hero ?

In my opinion...maybe the hero went a little far. With 250/500 you still have 34 big blinds and aren't in HORRIBLE shape yet. Is he the type of villian that would think slowplaying bottom two on the flop is a smart idea? I'd have to put him on either some sort of underpair, a boat, trip Q's, trip 2's or absolutely nothing and he's trying to buy it. Perhaps he didn't put you on sigificant strength and merely called on the turn to bluff the river. I'd need more information about his play style to really give an opinion. Also, what's the hero's repuation? I do think that at this point, you're probably pretty committed to the pot, and if you think have the best hand you have to raise all in.

Call.

I think Villain floats the turn here a lot, and I'm not that sure he bets a 2 on the river here.

His bet size surprises me though. If I'm him, I'm betting 6k here if I decide to bet.

Check the turn.

I guess you are chopping at best here, looks like he hit his Q.

That was one of the worst cards to see. I probably make a crying call, b/c I hate folding. This is close enough where I'd just go with your read.

Why did you not bet the flop?

I'm pretty much never checking through top pair twice. The flop or the turn must be bet, and I like the flop check.
