Default Bad Beats/Bad Plays getting paid off online

Hello,

A lot of people say that there are more bad beats online because there are more bad players. However, sometimes it seems like bad plays get paid off way too frequently online.

Personally, I played 5 SNG's today on Full Tilt and Stars and I ran into some tough beats on every one of them. For example, people going all in with a top pair with a weak kicker and you call with an overpair (aces) and the guy catches his kicker on the river. Or people raising pre flop from EP with pair of 2s and call you all the way down and end up beating your top 2 pairs with a set on the river.

I know that some of you are very successful at playing online. I wonder how you deal with bad beats, especially when it happens many times in a row. I mean, are you supposed to fold your best hand when you feel like some donkey is chasing his weak gut shot draw?

Yes, folding the best hand to avoid bad beats is the secret system to crushing the online games for million$ of $$$ in ka$h a year. Please don't tell anyone about this, because then all the games will dry up.

Kash it is not rigged!

Fundamentally (and generally) poker is like rolling dice. Lets say you have a six-sided die and any 1234 will win it for you. Sometimes the 5 or 6 hits. Simple as that. IT IS GAMBLING!

Sometimes the downswings even last incredibly long as you no doubt know having experienced this stuff in 5 straight SNGs.

You see more bad beats on line simply because you see more HANDS on line.

Bad beats only happen to you when you are playing inferior opponents.

Important to keep in mind.

Nice sample size. Seriously. Quit whining bitch.

Edit: I appear to have drunk too much to give advice. My compatriots have handled this situation well. My regards to the classy 2+2 fellows.

Also, there is no need to bet if you can't get your opponent to fold and he is on a draw. Not betting saves you money when he catches.

cards generally have been proven to come and go in cycles. this means that if you suffer a few bad beats in a row, it is generally best to just play more weak and conservatively for a while to 'ride out' the storm. if you know your opponent is on a gutshot and you think he is going to hit, then yeah it is probably best to just let go of TPTK and wait for a better opportunity.
