A tournament director just announced that first prize in the Main Event this year will exceed $12 million. The director also announced that there will be 12 instant millionaires at the end of the tournament.

This is nice. In addition to those players that win $1M or more due to their poker play, they'll have 12 instant millionaires, presumably through scratch off lotto tickets. Solid.

Depending on how many amateurs get really deep this is gonna create another "bubble" right before the final table. Will be interesting to see what effect this has on the play.

Just to be a nit. Its actually $1M- buyin(10k) so they're really only winning $990,000. So they wont be millionares.
