OK, it appears some of you have no idea how bad live play is at a casino when looking over some of the hands being posted. When one says worse than 25NL at party, we mean it. To highlight that, I'll post a hand I played at Hooter's about 6:30 AM the other day. 4_2_it witnessed and also has an interesting hand or two he might post to exemplify the softness.
First, a lead-up hand to establish my image. I am in the cutoff. two players limp in front. I raise to $20 ($197 stack) without looking at my cards. I get 1 call from the second limper. I have seen 4 hands thus far and the caller has taken about 3 minutes for each postflop decision he has made. I cannot tell if he is drunk, slow, or just that serious about the money at stake. I opt to believe the later read. Flop comes A97 with two diamonds. Villian checks, I bet $35 (I still haven't looked at my cards). Villian thinks for over a minute and calls. During his deliberation, I peek and see I have K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] . Turn is 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Villian checks...I bet $60. Villian thinks for at least 3 minutes (the money really really matters to him....I'm not sure if he is staked to play .10/.20). I am getting ready to call for a clock and the villian says, "you must have a set of sixes." YAHTZEE. How he comes to this read, I have no idea. However, I want him to fold and think it is the perfect time to mention that is a great read and I turn my 6 face up and put the $1 tip on my cards for the dealer. Another 45 sec or so go by and the villian folds showing the Ace of diamonds. I, of course, show the king. My image is set. I am hoping to get big value later on from made hands. Here comes the hand in question. I am either the big blind or the live straddle from UTG. I have about $275 in front. Tightish player with about $75 in front raises from early-mid to $15. Another loose preflop, tight postflop player from the hijack calls $15 with about $150 behind. folded to me....I see 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Since I hate money, I cannot wait to throw my chips in to call. Flop comes 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. I am first to act and decide I want to get the initial raiser all in no mater what with my draw, so I check (very debatable). Initial raiser, now with $60 behind, bets $20. Cold caller calls the $20. I push allin. The initial raiser thinks, sweats, and folds K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] face up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ZOMG other villian folds Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ROFLCOPTER LOLLERSKATES I rake the pot and the dealer rabbit chases and shows I would've hit my straight on the turn and rivered a tiny flush. the player with kings feels good about his fold. There are no words to truly describe the play at 1/2 live NL in Vegas. |

Same Villian as Hand 1 and 2 above:
I have AKo in the BB with about $120 behind (should have re-bought). Limps to SB (villain) who makes it $15. I call and MT2R calls. Flop is A Q 6 (2 spades). Villain checks, I bet $30, MT2R folds, villain calls. Turn is a blank spade (I have the K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ) and I push the rest of my stack in. Villain thinks and calls with KQo. Ship it Holla! |

This just defies logic - you showed a bluff earlier, which should make people more likely to call you, and then morons are folding KK to your shove?!?
