Funny little PF hand
Original PF raiser seemed like a solid TAG. Little more on the tighter/passive side than others on this forum (20/10). Definitely a winner though. I don't think he uses a bet script and his regular raise is to 9 here. So it was either a legitimate typo or he is doing it with AA/KK.
PF pusher was an unknown at the time but appeared loose so he didn't have a read on me either. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (6 handed) CO ($218.68) Button ($199) Hero ($204.20) BB ($130.10) UTG ($281.95) MP ($622.55) Preflop: Hero is SB with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Hero posts a blind of $1. UTG calls $2, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises to $19</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero (poster) raises to $59</font>, BB bets $128.10 (All-In), UTG folds, Button folds, Hero... |

Re: Funny little PF hand
I think you call simply because he's a short-stack here. It's 60 into 210 or so, so if he's got an overpair, you're losing about 60 dollars 4 times, and winning 210 back once. That's about -30 when you're wrong, and a huge +EV when you're ahead or racing.

Re: Funny little PF hand
Call if you think he has < JJ. I've noticed that some players raise 8-9 BB's with medium pocket pairs to merely scoop up the blinds. It's a foolish play, and you should call if you think that he has a medium pair.
Given the unknown range of the Villain, muck pre-Flop. Although I've seen players raise 8-9 BB's with medium pairs, I have also observed players doing it with AA. |
