A Leading Question Someone Gave Me
So, I thought it was at least interesting and was curious to hear some others thoughts.
#1. If you could design transportation to get from America to Europe in 1 hour although it would cost 100,000 lives a year to do so, would you do it? #2. Was it right to mass produce the automobile? |

Re: A Leading Question Someone Gave Me
At the right price, it would make plane travel obsolete. How many people die in plane crashes every year? Certainly not 100,000 but several thousand. Yes, I'd do it.
Re: question #2. Yes. |

Re: A Leading Question Someone Gave Me
how many ppl have lost their lives at sea over the centuries and yet we still travel the oceans.
humans are travelers and explorers. its what we do. loss of life is a possibility of the game. |

Re: A Leading Question Someone Gave Me
The problem with the questions is that it blames the loss of lives on the creation of the transportation vehicle. Usually, the loss of lives can be blamed on the carelessness or stupidity of people.

Re: A Leading Question Someone Gave Me
1. Just America to Europe in one hour? Or does it have the same proportional time from say Japan to America or something?
2. Do the people die from using this transport device or from non-related issues from the transport device? |

[/ QUOTE ] Sorry but this whole line of questioning is ridiculous. The overall economic benefit of the automobile is far far greater than 1 hour US to Europe transportation. There is no consideration for the number and frequency of use of the automobile compared to 1 hour US to Europe transportation (or the Oregon trail for that matter). |
