Default Unusual line

Villain here is 57/7.5/2.5

I've been running pretty well at the table and probably have a slight LAG image.

What do you think of the amount I raised the river?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

BB ($136.25)
UTG ($85.50)
MP ($102.50)
CO ($100.35)
Hero ($126.70)
SB ($159.20)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
3 folds, Hero calls $1, 1 fold, BB raises to $2, Hero calls $1.

Flop: ($4.50) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $2, BB calls $2.

Turn: ($8.50) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $4, BB raises to $8, Hero calls $4.

River: ($24.50) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB bets $10, Hero raises to $30...

River raise looks fine.

Standard PF? I guess the blinds were LP and would let you limp?

What hands do you think he calls that bet with, but not a larger one? Your reads of him being too loose passive, and you possibly being viewed as overly agressive makes him even more likely to call a larger bet.

You and villain have effectively $100 left, and villain is obviously a pretty horrible player. Out of the range he calls your $20 bet with, I think he calls a push at least 1/5 of the time, and probably way closer to 1/2. It looks like he can easily have the last ace, and he will have a hard time folding trips on the river.

Overall, I think this is a push.

How come you bet so little on the flop and turn? Less than half pot on both?

Bigger raise, he has a bigger ace or a smaller boat most likely. More like 50-65ish range.

Because I'm WA/WB. I don't necessarily want a huge pot.

I am confused by this statement. If you think this is a wa/wb spot, why not bet the flop and check behind the turn. If you are wb in fact why bet the turn and open things up for him to raise you like he did. It seems like betting the turn goes against the idea of being wa/wb.

Good point. I mean, that's why I bet so small, but I think your argument for checking holds water.

I'd probably raise preflop. Whats villains WTSD%. With the min check raise on the turn, villain prob has trip A. Unless his WTSD is low, you can raise it to $40 and he'd prob call.
