Deep stack flop decision
25/50 Party, 6-handed. Sorry no converter.
Villain is a solid LAG who I've played with several times and has 10k or so. Everyone else has around 5k, and I cover the table. Villain and I respect each other and have been staying out of each other's way for the most part. I haven't played with BB before; he has been playing a little erratically but hasn't made any big mistakes or looked too donkish. He has bet into the PFR a few times, generally winning the pot there. I have 66 on button. Villain raises to 175 (standard), I call, and BB calls. Flop comes 7s 6d 4d. BB bets 550, making the pot 1100. Villain pushes. Call? |

Re: Deep stack flop decision
Yes, call. BB can have wide range of hands and Villain having nuts or 77 would be wierd all in at this spot.

Re: Deep stack flop decision
Well, 58 and 35 seem pretty unlikely.
He would probably play top set fairly similarly, since the board is so damn draw heavy, but he could also easily have a diamond draw, two pair, or 44. BB led for pot, which could also be a big hand or a big draw, but he too is pretty damn unlikely to have the straight. If one of 'em has 77, you're boned, but that's the only hand that you're behind. I call this pretty quick. |

Re: Deep stack flop decision
I folded and felt like a total puss about it. It turned out that it worked out well for me that time -- Villain had 73dd and hit his flush (BB called with an overpair) -- but I was pretty upset with myself for the poor decisionmaking. It was the first time in awhile that I found myself making a decision based on the amount of money (i.e. i certainly would have called this playing nl2000 with 4000 stacks), which is probably a sign that I'm playing too high.
Just confirming that people generally agreed I made the wrong play. |

Re: Deep stack flop decision
folding here is pretty much the definition of "scared money", don't sit at that table if you can't handle losing what's there
